Obituary
Ralph "Whitey" Moore, age 88 of Trenton, formerly of Millville, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014 at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born in Wolfe County, Kentucky on May 13, 1925, the first-born son of Velmer and Myrtle (Curtis) Moore. Ralph enlisted in the United States Navy during WWII, being honorably discharged as a Boatswains mate 2/c. On September 18, 1947, he married Geneva J. Short in St. Helens, Kentucky. Ralph retired from Fisher Body, Fairfield as a General Foreman in June, 1980 after 33 years. He was also an honorary Kentucky Colonel. Ralph enjoyed family gatherings, camping, boating, fishing, RV traveling and bus tours with his wife and other family members.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda (Joseph) Isaacs; son, Steven (Jacqueline) Moore, DDS; grandchildren, Kristy (Benjamin) Weaver, Steven (Desiree) Moore, Jr., DMD and Megan Moore; great-grandchildren, Maxwell Weaver, Steven Moore, III and Katelynn Moore. Ralph is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Lee, Doug (Judy) and Carolyn Moore; numerous nieces and nephews; plus many friends and colleagues. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva in 2012; parents; sisters, Malta Fugate and Dorothy (Harold) Smith; brothers, Lloyd and Thomas (Hazel) Moore; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Clarence and Harry Short, Gladys (Chester) Bush, Madge Hampton, Gertrude (Dave) Hampton, Hazel (Jr.) Brewer, Wilma Jean Hyden and Mildred (Red) Creech.
The family would like to thank Sheryl Matthews of Gem City for taking such loving care of their Dad during the last 1½ years.
Funeral Services will be held at 1pm on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South "D" Street, Hamilton with Pastor Joe Clark of Millville Avenue Church of God and Pastor Don Dewey of St. Clair Avenue Baptist Church officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
