Notes - Howard – William R., 71, 2933 23rd Ave. N., passed away April 22, 1967. Born in Bryson City, N.C. he came to St. Petersburg 31 years ago from Nutley, N.J. He was formerly assistant manager and account executive with Thomson and McKinnon locally until retirement. He attended Maryville College in Tennessee and before coming to St. Petersburg he had an extensive career with United Press in New York City. He was a veteran of world War I. A Presbyterian he is survived by his wife Lena McCollum Howard; four sons, Roy O., Pinellas Park; Robert H., St. Petersburg; Reginald W., Eau Gallie; Richard H. St. Petersburg; give daughters, Mrs. Wilma H. Brown, St. Petersburg; Mrs. Wanda H. Brown, St. Petersburg; Mrs. Wanda H. Elston, also of St. Petersburg; Mrs. Louis H. Hicks and Mrs. Carol H. Kaylor, all of St. Petersburg; and Mrs. Betty H. Headley, La Mirada, Calif.; a brother, Theodore Howard of Hazard, Ky.; 26 grandchildren and one great-grandson. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday 10 a.m. at C.E. Prevatt Memorial Home, Tyrone Blvd. Chapel. Dr. Vaughn M. Johnson of the Fifth Ave. Baptist Church officiating. Interment to follow in Sylvan Abbey Cemetery, Clearwater.
