Notes - Sam was the son of James William "Bill" and Lucy Tabitha Robertson/Robinson Metcalf. He married Bessie Jane Perry daughter of Richard and M. A. "Dora" West Perry. Together they had 8 children; James, Earl, William, Gracie, Edith, Edna, Virgil and Richard Metcalf.
METCALF. Samuel D., age 74, of 2025 E. Central Ave, Miamisburg , passed away at his residence. Wednesday p.m. Survived by 5 sons, James of Franklin, William of Springboro, Virgil, Richard and Earl all of Miamisburg; 3 daughters, Mrs. Grace Pigg and Mrs. Edna Fowler both of Miamisburg, Mrs. Edith Lakes of Farmersville ; 2 brothers, Garfield, Dayton, and Hughie, Miamisburg; 3 sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Kelly. Springfield, Miss Viola Metcalf and Mrs. Martha Mynhier both of Miamisburg; 37 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren. Services Saturday 1 :30 p.m. at the Ninth St. Free Pentacostal Holiness church. Interment Hillgrove cemetery.
