    Reva C. APPLE-HOLLENBAUGH, age 85 of Middletown, passed away Thursday evening. She was born in Crab Orchard, Kentucky, February 25, 1921, a daughter of Cleveland and Elizabeth Hopkins Wilmot. She was a graduate of West Elkton High School, and an extremely active member of the Spring Hill Church of Christ. Reva worked for Montgomery Wards, then as a Buyer for McAlpin's. She loved working crossword puzzles, the Reds on radio, and being a Momaw to her grandchildren.

    She is survived by 4 daughters, Linda (Dale) Morton of Middletown, Janice (Dan) Collins of Middletown, Gail (Wayne) Melgaard of Piqua, Ohio, and Tracy Jackson of Middletown; a son, Mark (Tamra) Apple of Franklin; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter; 2 stepchildren, Dee (John) Martin, and Ross (Sandy) Hollenbaugh; 3 step grandchildren, and 3 step great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Ruby Rieger, Donna Roby, and Martha Gabbard; a half-sister, Annabelle Adams; and 4 brothers, Jim Cornett, Grant Wilmot, Jack Wilmot, and Frank Wilmot.

    She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Apple in 1990, and Deaner Hollenbaugh in July of this year; a grandson, Kerry Morton; a sister, Versa Whitt; a half-sister, Marie Lunsford; and 3 brothers, Gerald, Benton, and Charles Wilmot.

    Funeral services were held at 1PM Tuesday, December 19, officiated by Mr. Bob Stacy. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Gratis, Ohio.

    Gail A. (Apple) Melgaard age 65,of Piqua, died at 2:15 am Monday at her residence. She was born June 22, 1944 in Gratis. She was preceded in death by her parents, William "Bill" Apple, Reva (Wilmot) Apple Hollenbaugh, and step-father, Deaner Hollenbaugh. She married Wayne K. Melgaard on July 29, 1967 in Middletown; and he survives.

    Piqua - Gail A. (Apple) Melgaard, 65, of 2200 Navajo Trail, Piqua, died at 2:15 a.m. Monday, Sep. 7, 2009, at her residence.
    She was born June 22, 1944 in Gratis. She was preceded in death by her parents, William "Bill" Apple, Reva (Wilmot) Apple Hollenbaugh, and step-father, Deaner Hollenbaugh. She married Wayne K. Melgaard on July 29, 1967 in Middletown; and he survives.
    Other survivors include a daughter, Carol (Jeff) Howard of Manhattan, Ill.; two sons, Matthew (Jennifer) Melgaard of Bradford and Michael “Brandon” (Carrie) Melgaard of Cleveland; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Linda (Dale) Morton, Janice Russell and Tracy (Todd) Hyde, all of Middletown; a brother, Mark (Tamra) Apple of Franklin; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
    Mrs. Melgaard graduated from Middletown Schools, obtained her teaching degree from Miami University, and earned her master’s degree in education from the University of Dayton. She began her long career in teaching in 1967 having taught 30 years in the Piqua City School District before retiring in 2004. Additionally, she taught at the Sylvan Learning Center in Piqua for nine years. She was an active member of the Piqua Church of Christ for 34 years where she was a Sunday school teacher, member of its choir, Fellowship Committee, and U&I Class. Gail loved her family and attended all family gatherings. She enjoyed auctions and collecting antiques.
    A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with the Rev. Travis Mowell officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park Cemetery.
