Mangled Body Of Stock Man Found In Lot
Stanford, Ky., Nov.13 (Special) – The mangled body of George W. Spivey, 64, Crab Orchard stock trader, was found late today in a barn lot near his home.
Acting Coroner T.D. Newland said following an inquest that death was from an unknown cause. Newland advanced the theory, however, that Spivey had suffered a heart attack and that pigs in the lot had attacked him. A team of horse was in the lot and Newland said it was possible that one of the horses had kicked him.
His wife, Mrs. Mary Jane Peters Spivey [note: this is the name of his mother, not his wife] found the body and reported the discovery.
Survivors, besides his wife, include four daughters, Mrs. Gabe Hoskins and Mrs. Robert Newcomb, both of Crab Orchard, and Mrs. Josephine Spath and Mrs. Bessie Robinson, both of Hamilton, Ohio, and three sons, Henry Spivey, Crab Orchard; Arthur Spivey, Advance, Ind., and Elzie Spivey of Michigan.
The body was taken to the Beazley-Raney funeral home here. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon, but further arrangements have not been completed.

    Robinson, Bessie Jane (Spivey)
Age 95, departed to her heavenly home on Tuesday, December 21, 2004, at the Hospice of Hamilton at Sunrise. She was born to George and Sarah Ellen (Anderson) Spivey on December 14, 1909, in Burning Springs, Kentucky. Bessie’s mother passed away when Bessie was five years old. Her father later married Sarah Elizabeth Shelton (Hoskins) Spivey, who became a loving mother to Bessie and her siblings. In her teens, Bessie moved to Hamilton, where she married Herman Robinson on August 22, 1928. They were married for almost fifty years before Herman passed away. Together they formed a caring and loving home for their four children which was always open to family and friends. As their children married, each spouse was accepted with love as their own. Bessie was a devoted wife and mother. Holidays were special for her, as she was surrounded by her family. We all grieve the loss of our mother: Rosemary (Ebbing) and the late Jack Robinson, Carol and Bob Woebkenberg, Gail and Stanley Fannin, and Bill and Dianne Robinson. She will be sadly missed by her children, twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Bessie was precede in death by her parents; her loving spouse, Herman; her eldest son, Jack; four brother, Henry, Arthur, Elza and Willie J.; and three sisters, Stella, Eunice, and Josephine. Funeral service will be held at the Brown Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Thursday, December 23, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Marvin Cann, Pastor of Adult Senior Ministries at Princeton Pike Church of God, officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Hamilton at Sunrise, 896 NW Washington Blvd., Hamilton 45013.
