    Word has been received here of the death of Henry Ponder, 74, R.R.2, Mount Vernon, Ky. He was a former Richmond resident and had worked at various times for Perfect Circle, Mercury Records and Crosley here. He was a member of the Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, Ky.
    Survivors include his wife, Allie; two sons, William and Bennett, both of Mount Vernon, Ky.; three daughters, Eva Shannon and Kathlene Vencer, both of Richmond, and Mrs. Cacus Marker of Eldorado, Ohio; one brother, Alva Ponder of Tipp City, Ohio; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    Services for Mr. ponder will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Cox Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Raford Herrin officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery at Mount Vernon, Ky. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

    A native of Mt. Vernon, Rockcastle County, Ky., she had lived in the Richmond community most of her life. She was a member of Pentecostal Tabernacle Church.
    Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Charley Shannon; her mother, Allie B. Ponder of Mt. Vernon, Ky.; two sisters, Cacus Marker of Eldorado and Kathlene Yencer of Richmond, Ind.; two brothers, William Ponder of Mt. Vernon, Ky., and Bennett Ponder of Berea, Ky.; nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were Tuesday, Aug. 17, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home, Richmond, Ind., with the Rev. W.H. Wyatt officiating. Burial was in Earlham Cemetery, Richmond.

    Mr. William Ponder, age 91 of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky passed away on Sunday October 13, 2019 at his residence in Mt. Vernon. He was born on October 4, 1928 in Burr, Kentucky, a son of the late Henry and Allie B. Mullins Ponder. He was a retired cabinet maker and carpenter. He enjoyed woodworking and repairing furniture. He was a member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God.

    Survivors are: Two sisters: Kathlene (Charles) Yencer, of Richmond, Indiana and Glenna Cacus Marker of New Port Richey, Florida. Six Nieces: Jackie Bullock, Patricia Wolfe, Lisa Shehan, Angela Sandberg, Denise Whalen and Janice Chadwell also survive.

    Besides his parents he is preceded in death by a sister Eva Shannon and husband Charles, a brother Bennett Ponder, two nephews and one niece.

    Graveside services for Mr. William Ponder will be conducted on Wednesday October 16, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Elmwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon with Bro. Tim Hampton officiating.

    Bennett "Benny" Ponder age 81 of Richmond passed away Wednesday May 30, 2012 at Hospice Compassionate Center.
    Bennett was born in Rockcastle County to the late Henry and Allie B. Mullins Ponder. He was retired from Kentucky Stone, a U.S. Army veteran and member of the Hays Fork Baptist Church.

    He is survived by his wife Lorene Mink Ponder, three children Patricia (Roger) Wolfe, Janice Chadwell and Kevin Ponder, one brother William Ponder, two sisters Cacus Marker and Dean Yencer, 7 grandchildren James Michael Kirby, Jennifer Dawn Short, Scott Bradley, Benjamin Kirby, Paige Ponder, Roger Wolfe Jr. and Mackenzie Ponder and great grandchildren Austin Short, Kevin Wolfe, Hannah Davis, Lilly Davis and another one expected to be here in November.

    In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one sister Eva Shannon.

    Funeral services will be 2 pm Saturday June 2nd, 2012 at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Vincent Carmen officiating. Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11am until time of services at the funeral home.

    Bobby Harrison Ponder, age 82, husband of Lois (Browning) Ponder of East Bernstadt, Kentucky passed away Monday, April 23, 2018 at his residence. He was the father of Lori Brown and husband Anthony, Stephanie Adams and husband Jeff, and Larry Wayne Ponder all of East Bernstadt, Kentucky, and Jackie Ponder and wife Gayle of New Carlisle, Ohio. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alva Ponder and Nell (Spivey) Ponder, by his siblings, Peggy Hagerman, Connie Vance, Larry David Ponder, and by one granddaughter, Crystal Brown. He was a truck driver and of the Holiness Faith. Funeral Services for Bobby Harrison Ponder will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, April 26, 2018 in London Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Lady, Jonathan Gregory, Kenny Shannon, and Gerald Poff officiating. Burial will follow at Old Casteel Cemetery. The family of Bobby Harrison Ponder will receive friends after 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at London Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to London Funeral Home toward funeral expense.
