    Lewis Marcum, 704 First Street, died early Wednesday in Wysong Hospital. Funeral services will be held in Crouch-Moore Chapel with burial in the Blue Ridge Cemetery, Date and time are pending.

    He was born July 10, 1877 in Kentucky, the son of William and Mary Jane Martin Marcum.

    Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lovada Marcum; four sons, John Marcum, Bellmont, Calif.; Walter Marcum Odessa; Eddie Marcum, Houston; Henry Marcum, Texas City; four daughters, Mrs. Della Nevil, Rockwall; Mrs. Florence Crawford, McKinney; Mrs. Drucille Stephens, Borger; Mrs. Mary Faulkner, California; two brothers, Neal Marcum, Oklahoma; Oscar Marcum, California; several nieces and nephews.

    Kilgore – Services for Drucilla Marcum Stephens, 80, of Kilgore will be 10 a.m. Monday at Rader Funeral Home.
    Burial will be in Pinecrest Cemetery in Troup.
    Mrs. Stephens died Thursday morning in a Kilgore nursing home following a lengthy illness.
    She was a native of Cass, Ark., and had lived in Kilgore for 20 years. She also lived in Barger and Arp. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Kilgore, past worthy Matron of the Apr Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star and member of the Mum Society.
    Survivors include her daughter, patsy Stephens Evans of Bridge City; son, Jack E. of Dallas; sisters, Della Neville of Denton and Mary Faulkner of San Jose; brother, Henry Marcum of Pasadena; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

    Marcum died Monday in Medical Center Hospital after a two-month illness.

    He was born Sept 14, 1912, in Cass, Ark., and married Daphne Delaney in 1968 in Big Spring. He came to Odessa in 1955 from Houston and was a member of Temple Baptist Church and a Mason in Lafayette, La.

    Survivors include his widow; at home; a son, Walter Neal Marcum of Friona; two brothers, Eddie Marcum of Houston and Henry Marcum of Texas City; and four sisters, Mrs. Della Neville and Mrs. Florence Crawford, both of McKinney, Mrs. Drucilla Stevens of Kilgore and Mrs. May Faulkner of Redwood City, Calif.

    She was born Nov. 30, 1924, in Blue Ridge, Texas, the daughter of Johnnie and Stella Florence Davis. She was raised in Blue Ridge and finished high school, where she played women's basketball and loved the sport. She attended the University of Idaho in Moscow. She married L. James Koutnik on Feb. 12, 1944, in Roswell, N.M. They lived in Texas for a time until they moved to Twin Falls in 1948. Laverne was a member and a choir member of the First Baptist Church. She was involved in the American Legion Auxiliary, the national Federation of Republican Women, the Twin Falls Republican Women, and worked with Girl's State. She enjoyed music and was involved in Magic Valley Chorale, the Music Club and was also involved with the Scholarship Foundation for the Music Club. She loved to sing "Sweet Adeline." She was a very special grandma, mom, mother-in-law and friend. Her love for her three grandchildren, Jessica, Philip and Christopher was a never-ending love. Always by phone or mail, something good was sure to come, whether it was a note or goodies just to say I love you! Her kindness was abundant and shared by all who walked in her path. She enjoyed visiting, having lunches and going on trips with friends.

    Surviving are her two sons, Gary Wayne (Debra) Koutnik of Twin Falls and Brett Michael (Jan) Koutnik of Alpharetta, Ga.; three grandchildren; and one sister, Loylle (O.L. "Hank" ) Hankins of Sun City West, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister and four brothers.

    A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb 9, 1998, at Reynolds Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Henry Toews of the Twin Falls First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at unset Memorial Park. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Reynolds Funeral Chapel. The family suggests memorials to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital or to the Scholarship Foundation for the Music Club. Contributions may be left with funeral chapel staff or mailed to Reynolds Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 1142, Twin Falls, ID 83303.

    She attended Tyler Junior College and graduated from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas. Patsy was one of the first faculty members of Bridge City High School. She taught for 33 years with 31 of those years being dedicated to teaching home economics and family living at Bridge City High School. Patsy loved to travel, cook, and go on shopping trips. She will be missed by her family, students, and friends.

    Patsy was preceded in death by her parents.

    She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jesse Wyatt Evans; son, Stephen Wyatt Evans and wife, Donna; grandchild, Jessica Ellender and husband, Jadon; one great-grandchild, and brother, Jack Edward Stephens.

    Jack E. Stephens, 79, passed away at his home in Dallas, Texas on September 24, 2013. Jack was born on November 4, 1933 to James Edward and Drucilla (Marcum) Stephens in Arp, Texas. He graduated from Arp High School in 1951 before joining the Army. Jack is survived by his sons, Beau of Frisco, Texas; Todd and wife Lisa of Kentucky; and daughter, Staci Stephens Ashley and husband Steve Ashley of Odessa, Texas; grandchildren, Stockton Anna Ashley, Austin and Lauren Stephens, Trinity and Brendan Stephens; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patsy Evans. Funeral services will be held at the DFW National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas and are limited to immediate family only.

    Steven Wyatt Evans, age 68, of Beaumont, passed away on November 4, 2021, at his home.

    A graveside service will be 1pm, Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Pinecrest Cemetery in Troup, Smith County, Texas. Officiating will be Pastor Kirk Ellender.

    Born in Jacksonville, Texas, on April 17, 1953, he was the son of Jesse Wyatt Evans and Patsy (Stephens) Evans.

    Steve was a 1971 graduate of Bridge City High School and went on to attend Stephen F. Austin University. He worked for Valero as an operator for almost 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, cooking, riding his Harley Davidson and listening to country music. Steve was an avid sports fan and could always be found watching his favorite teams, the Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved his French Bulldog, Pierre but adored his family most of all. Steve will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Patsy Evans.

    He is survived by his daughter Jessica Ellender and husband Jadon of Bridge City, Texas, his grandchildren, Anderson Wyatt Ellender, Joliet Ryan Ellender and Austin Everett Ellender.

    Arrangements are under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home of Orange, Texas.
