      Amos Halsey's Will

      The last will and testament of Amos Halsey Smyth County Virginia
      Considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and of sound mind and memory blessed be almight God for the same do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following.
      That is to say first I give and bequeath unto my son
      George W. Halsey and
      James H. Halsey &
      Silvester &
      Evelina Halsey single woman
      my lands to bee equaly divided amongst the above named.
      And also al of household furniture to but
      to my daughter Evalina,
      I will all of my land to the above named to bee Equally divided I will and bequeath
      to my son David Halsey
      One black mare & colt and one man saddle.
      I will and bequeath to my grandson Amos Crase one milk Cow cold flauer and my saddle and one small gun got from Ryan, { I will and bequeath
      to my daughter Mary Robinson
      my old yoke of Oxen.
      I will and bequeath
      to my daughter Margaret Long
      my young rone mare I will and bequeath
      to my daughter Jane Huttons Children
      Twenty dollars in money
      { I will and bequeath to my son Silvester Halsey my gray horse now at Thompsons and my new gun {
      I also will and bequeath to my son James H. Halsey my young sorrel horse {
      I will and bequeath to my son David Halsey my wagon }
      I will and bequeath to my daughter Evalina Halsey single woman
      my old Mar fan and my young yoke of oxen I will and bequeath to my son

      as my Exetor to collect all debts owing or coming to me and pay all debts aganst me as primcusd debton, and divide the Remainder equally amongst my lawful Heirs {

      This the last will and testament of Amos Halsey Decd was proved in Court by the oaths of David Reedy and Stephen South Subscribing witness thereto and ordered to be recorded And on the motion of James Wilson the executor there in named who made oath there to and together with David Reedy and William Blesing his securities entered into and acknowledged a bond in the pinalty of Two Thousand Dollars Conditioned according to law a probat of said will is granted him according to law.
