- Virginia Marcum
Services for Virginia B. Marcum, 87, of Lompoc are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at Lompoc Cemetery with Dr. Larry C. Baker of First Southern Baptist Church officiating.
Mrs. Marcum was born Nov. 3, 1912, in Fayetteville, Ark., to Edward and Elizabeth Drake Counts. She came to Lompoc in 1961 from Marina with her husband who was stationed with the military. She was a member of TOPS and Valley of the Flowers Half Century Club. She also enjoyed a variety of crafts including working with stained glass and tending her garden.
She died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, at her home.
Survivors include her daughters, Peggy Kinman and Glinda Clifford, both of Lompoc; sons, Troy Brown of Temecula, Jim Brown of Heber Springs, Ark., L.D. Brown of Anaheim and Clyde Brown of Lompoc; sisters, Jewell Martin of Wenatchee, Wash., Edda Lea VanHoose of Yakima, Wash., and Lucy Hicks of Fayetteville, Ark.; 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Marcum; sisters, Gertie Paris and Bessie Brooks and brother, Doyle Counts.
No visitations are planned.
Services are directed by Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
