Notes - Vadis Hale, 94, of 1341 Walnut Street, Crab Orchard, died Wednesday, March 19 at the home of his son, Paul Hale. A native of Booneville, he was born July 21, 1908 to the late Truman Howard Hale and Emily Frances Herd Kale. He was a farmer most of his life, attended the Church of God, and v. as the widower of Beatrice Tackett Hale and Lora Price Hale. Survivors include sons, Charles, Paul, and Kenneth Hale and Douglas Hendershot all of Crab Orchard; daughter, Barbara Turner of Booneville; sisters, Nancy Halcomb of Hamilton, IN., and Retha Hendershot of McKee; one brother, Dallas Hale of Gainesville, GA.; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 22 at the McKnight Funeral Home in Crab Orchard with Bro. Cecil Roundtree officiating. Burial was in Woodstock Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Michael, Stevie, Ray, Keith and Kenny Hale and Chris Owens.
