  • Notes
    • note on Find a Grave:
Kennedy Columbus Ward was born in Grayson County, Virginia on 14 Mar 1849 to John Hash Ward and Evalina (Hash) Ward. Kenneth Columbus Ward and Frances "Frankie" Lane, the daughter of Moses Lane and Elizabeth Wingate, were married on 10 Jun 1866 in Grayson County, Virginia.

Kenneth Columbus Ward and his wife, Frankey (Lane) Ward, are the only two known burials in the K. C. Ward Cemetery. The K. C. Cemetery is named after Kenneth Columbus Ward. Kenneth Columbus Ward has only a field stone as his marker. I do not know if his wife, Frankey, has a fieldstone or a gravestone, but I suspect it is also only a field stone. There are other fieldstones in the cemetery all of which are unknowns (all info per NewRiver Notes.com). Kenny is referred to as "Cain" Ward on his Death Certificate. Cain may be a corruption of "Ken" with the writer spelling the name phonetically as he heard it.
