- Booneville - Evelyn (Sexton) Tackett, age 82, widow of Eugene Tackett, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the Pattie A. Clay Regional Hospital in Richmond, KY.
Evelyn was born in Jackson, Ohio, on April 13, 1928, a daughter of the late William and Gladys (Downey) Sexton. She was a homemaker, a former Inn Keeper owning a motel in Oxford, Ohio, an active member in Women's Ministries, Giedons Women Auxiliary, a Sunday School Teacher, Group Leader for the Missionettes in Hamilton, Ohio, an excellent quilter, enjoyed working on crafts, and a member of the Travellers Rest Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by 2 sons; David (Jenny) Tackett of Hamilton, OH, and Loren (Juanita) Tackett of Booneville, KY, 2 daughters; Gwen (Larry) Murphy of Vincent, KY, and Kim Franks of Hamilton, OH, 3 brothers; Ronnie, Tommy, and Gary Sexton all of Jackson, OH, 5 sisters; Rosa Lee Scott, Doris Hacker, Connie Folden, Marlene Simpson, and Lela Cooper all of Jackson, OH, 6 grandchildren; Jenny DeBoer, David Murphy, Michelle Glossip, Shauna Tackett, Stefanie Franks and Brad Franks, 7 great grandchildren, and many other loving family members and friends.
Along with her parents and husband of 63 years she was preceded in death by 1 brother; Floyd Sexton, and 1 sister; Arleda Keller.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 12:00 PM at The Booneville Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Vandeventer officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, November 5, 2011 from 10:00 AM until time of service. Evelyn will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Tackett Gabbard cemetery in Travellers Rest, KY.
