- Booneville, KY - Coda Belle Wilson, 91, widow of Herbert Taft Wilson, passed away Friday, September 1, 2006 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY.
Coda was born January 24, 1915, in Owsley County, KY to the late Robert Nathan and Rachel Armina Gabbard Whicker. She was lifetime resident of Owsley County, a homemaker, a member of the Appalachian Arts and Crafts, and a Charter Member of the Rock Springs Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Eddie (& Alta) Wilson of Tyner, KY; a daughter-in-law, Judy Wilson, of Booneville, KY; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Wilburn Taft and Randall Ray Wilson; five sisters, Dixie Whicker Peters, Bessie Whicker Evans, Mayme Whicker Smith and Margie and Defreda Whicker; and three brothers, Chester, Sam, and Fred Whicker.
Funeral services held Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at the Booneville Funeral Home with Elder Mickey Wilson officiating. Visitation held from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m., Tuesday evening, at the funeral home. Burial in the Hardin Wilson Cemetery at Sturgeon with the Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Tom Emanual, Jorden Krauth, Gary Neeley, and Roger, Scottie, and Darrell Wilson.
