    On Monday, October 12, 2015 of Bethesda, Maryland. Warren is preceded in death by his parents, Bushrod W. and Thelma O. Allin. Beloved husband of 57 years of Lois Lamborn Allin; devoted father of Connie Allin and Donna Crowley (Mike); dear brother of Jean Dudrow and Dr. John Allin, and loving grandfather of Katelyn Parsons, Stephen Crowley and Allin Colby Newman. Warren is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. He was ably cared for at home by Pius Agbor, John Gomez, and Richard Cheruiyout. Warren was born on June 30, 1930 in New Haven, Connecticut and was a graduate of Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, class of 1948. He received his master's degree in fine arts at Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, MI and was an accomplished artist who earned many awards. A memorial service will be held at Chevy Chase United Methodist Church, 7001 Connecticut Ave., Chevy Chase, MD 20815 on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11 a.m. Private inurnment at Parklawn Memorial Park.     John W. Allin, 83, Former Madison Grocer, Is Dead
    John W. (Jack) Allin, 83, of 135 N. Lake St., father of Dr. Robin Allin, prominent Madison physician, died Thursday in a local hospital.
    He formerly operated Allin's Grocery on Atwood Avenue, until illness forced his retirement several years ago.
    He was a member of First Christian Church and was active in affairs of the church, serving at times as a lay preacher.
    Surviving are his wife; five sons, Dr. Allin, 802 Huron Hill; Dr. B.W. Allin, Bethesda, Md.; Thomas G., Milwaukee; Fred, South Bend, Ind.; Jack J., Las Vegas, Nev.; a brother, Thomas, Louisville, Ky.; two sisters, Mrs. Kelly Perkins and Mrs. Fred Kahrl, Mt. Vernon, O.; 17 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the First Christian Church.
    Friends may call at the Larson funeral hone, 327 W. Johnson st., today after 4 p.m. and until 11 a.m. Saturday when the body will be taken to the church. Additional services and burial will be at Harrodsburg, Ky.

    Mrs. Flora Gritton Allin, wife of Mr. Jack Allin, of this place, died at Norton Infirmary, Louisville, about 8:30 o'clock Sunday night, May 12, 1935. She had not been well for some time, but her condition was not considered serious until a few weeks ago when she was taken to Louisville to a specialist and passed through a critical operation. A native of Mercer County, Mrs. Allin was the daughter of Thomas Gritton and the late Minerva Bunton Gritton and would have been 55 years old in June. She has been to her family a devoted Christian wife and mother in the deepest and truest sense. Surviving are her husband, Mr. Jack Allin, and five sons, Bushrod W. Allin, Washington, D. C.; Jack Allin, Jr., and Fred Allin, of Madison, Wis.; Tom Allin, of Harrodsburg and Dr. Robin Allin, of Kansas City, Mo.; her father, Mr. Thomas Gritton, and four sisters, Mrs. Hugh Ison, Mrs. Holman Hogue, all of Mercer County; Mrs. Bertha Royce and Mrs. Huntley Ransdell, of Boyle County. Mrs. Allin's funeral was at the Harrodsburg Christian Church Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. T. Hassell Bowen. The burial was in Spring Hill cemetery. The casket bearers were her five devoted sons, and a brother-in-law, Tom Allin, of Louisville. Among relatives from other places here to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Sam McDowell and Allin McDowell, of Jessamine County; Mrs. Jennie Allin Osborne, of Versailles; Mrs. Robert Terhune, Winchester; Ed Allin, of Lexington and Tom Allin, of Louisville, and members of her family from Boyle County.

    Thomas R. Gritton, life resident of Mercer County died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. F. D. Royce, in Boyle County, at 8:15 on New Year's day. Eight years ago on New Year's Day at 3 o'clock his wife, Minerva, preceded him on that journey from which no traveler returns. His eldest daughter, Mrs. Jack Allin, died last May. He would have been 80 years old had he lived until next March, having been born March 28, 1856. He was one of a family of two boys and six girls only one of whom remains, Mrs. Annie G. Dorna, now living in Toronto, Canada. Among others to mourn his death are four daughters, Mrs. Holman Hogue, Mrs. F. D. Royce, Mrs. H. D. Ransdell, and Mrs. Hugh Ison; 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. His name is associated with the roll of the Christian Church of Harrodsburg, in which city and surrounding territory he leaves a host of acquaintances and friends. He was ever a friend to one in need and a good neighbor. Funeral services were held at the Harrodsburg Christian Church Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock, the Rev. T. Hassell Bowen, pastor, and Rev. M. T. Hart, pastor of the Danville Christian Church, officiating. Burial followed in Spring Hill cemetery. Pal bearers were Curtis and Allen Ransdell, English Bell, Forrest Hogue, Eddie Wright, and Tom Allin.

    The funeral of Mr. Thomas Gritton, one of the well known and much respected elderly citizens of Mercer County, will be at the Harrodsburg Christian Church at 1 o'clock this afternoon, conducted by Rev. T. Hassell Bowen. Mr. Gritton died Wednesday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bertha Royce and Dr. Royce, in Boyle County. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Royce, Mrs. Holman Hogue, of near Salvisa; Mrs. Hugh Ison, near Burgin; Mrs. Virgie Ransdell, of Boyle County.

    Mrs. Thomas R. Gritton died Sunday afternoon, Jan. 1st, 1928. She was 69 years of age and had been in bad health for some time. She was a devoted wife and mother and since early childhood had been a faithful worker in the Christian Church. Surviving her are her husband and five daughters, Mrs. Jack Allin, Madison, Wis.; Mrs. Frank Royce, Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Holman Hogue, Mrs. H. D. Ransdell and Mrs. Hugh Ison, of Mercer County. Her funeral was conducted by the Rev. T. Hassell Bowen at the Salvisa Church and interment was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Her sons-in- law were the pall-bearers.
