Notes - Mason Thomas Hotsinpiller, 88, of Danville died at 2:10 p.m. Saturday (May 27, 2006) at Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care System, Danville.
Mr. Hotsinpiller was born Aug. 5, 1917, in Dartmoor, W. Va., a son of Thomas and Martha Green Hotsinpiller. He married Wilma Cline on Dec. 1, 1939, in Covington, Ind. She survives.
Survivors also include a son, Denny Hotsinpiller of Danville; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a son and a brother.
Mr. Hotsinpiller served in the Army from 1942 to 1946 as a staff sergeant tank commander. He served in the European Theater in Belgium and surrounding areas. He was the past owner of the Nutty Nut Shop. He retired and volunteered for several years at Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care System. He was a member of Lincoln Methodist Church, Elk's Club and American Legion Post 210. He enjoyed playing golf.
