Final Rites Held For Cecile Hale Mon., June 29
Funeral services for Cecile Ona Morris Hale, long time Bedford resident, were held Monday (June 29) at the Bedford Baptist Church with Rev. Leonard D. Wilson in charge. Mrs. Hale died at Clarinda Municipal Hospital June 26, 1964, at the age of 65 years, 10 months and 28 days. She had been in failing health for the past six years. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery, Bedford.
Included in the services was the following obituary:
Cecile Ona Morris Hale, daughter of the late William A. [lonzo] and Martha R.[osetta Freemyer] Morris, was born July 28, 1898, in Taylor County, Iowa.
She was united in marriage May 12, 1917 to Ernest L. [loyd] Dowell. To this union two daughters were born, Mrs. Glenn (Luella) Straight and Mrs. R.[obert] D. [ouglas] (Helen Ruth) Timberlake. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest, in May 1930.
Cecile moved her family to Bedford from Blockton in the fall of 1930. She was employed as a clerk in various business places in Bedford through the years.
In 1931, she joined the First Baptist Church at Bedford where she retained her membership until her death.
She was united in marriage to Charles E. [dward] Hale in January 1934. To this union twin sons were born, Charles E. [dward] and William E.
She is survived by her two daughters, Helen and Luella of Bedford; two sons, Charles of Bedford and William of Maryville, Mo.; two brothers, Harry Morris of Shenandoah, Ia., Paul Morris of Mound City, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. Hans (Lucille) Meland of Ellendale, Minn.; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren and 11 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Mrs. John Lester; two brothers, Carl Morris and Guy Morris.
