- Odell Woman Is Found Dead
Paralytic Stroke Proves Fatal To Mrs. Sarah H. Gritton.
Odell, Ill (Special) - A paralytic stroke was blamed by a coroner's jury last night for the death of Mrs. Sarah H. Gritton, 64, who was found dead in her home here yesterday afternoon.
The body was discovered by her former husband, John Dondier, who for the past year, had been assisting with the chores about the premises. He was attracted to the house when he found the lights in one of the rooms burning. On investigation he found the body, fully clothed, on the floor, and the radio operating.
Authorities were notified and the body removed to an undertaking establishment where the inquest was held last evening. There was no evidence of violence, while the condition of the body indicated that she had been dead for some time.
Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock this afternoon from the Methodist church. Burial followed in Odell cemetery.
She is survived by her former husband, John Dondier, to whom she was married in 1892, a son Joseph Dondier, of Joliet, and a brother J.W. Burch, of Griffin, Ga. Her second husband, Charles Gritton, to whom she was wed in 1916, and a son Frank, preceded her in death.
The daughter of Thomas and Mary Burch, she was born November 18, 1872, in Odell township, and had spent her entire life in that locality.
