      Glenwood, Ill.
      Henry Paris, 78, of Glenwood, formerly of Smithland, Ky., died Saturday at St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights.
      Mr. Paris, a native of Smithland, was retired owner and operator of Midwest Crankshaft and Engine Rebuilding Inc. in Harvey. He was a member of the Automotive Engine Rebuilders Association and Automotive Wholesalers of Illinois. He was a World War II veteran.
      He is survived by his wife, Idelle Ralls Paris; two daughters, Judith Kutz of Macau, China, and Merry Beth Padgett of Glenwood; three sons, Gerald Paris of Lansing, Kenneth Paris of Smithland, and Lawrence paris of Palos Heights; three sisters, Cora Duprist and Lavenia Parrish, both of Ledbetter, Ky., and Frankie Champion of Smithland; two brothers, Loyd Paris of Tiline, Ky., and Cecil Paris of Smithland; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
      He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Paris; and four brothers. His parents were Ollie and Maude Easley Paris.
      Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hirsch Funeral Home West End Chapel, 1340 Otto Blvd., in Chicago Heights. The Revs. Ensign Leininger and Ronald Zanardo will officiate, with burial in Homewood Memorial Gardens.
      Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 0 p.m. Monday.
