    • Dorothea L. "Dot" Johann
      A Celebration of Life Service for Dorothea L. "Dot" Johann will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2003, in the chapel of the Magner Maloney Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Schrotel of the Unity Chapel of Light, officiating. Cremation was requested with private interment at a later date in the Santa Maria Cemetery.
      "Dot" departed this life on Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Marian Medical Center West.
      She was born at Lebanon, Kan. the daughter of Scott and Edith (Koeppe) Bloomfield. As a young child, she and her family moved to Southern California, settling in South Gate, Calif.
      "Dot" was a graduate of Downey High School. She married her husband, Richard "Dick" Johan on July 15, 1951, and began raising her family. During a brief residency in the desert, "Dot" worked for Roy Rogers at his Apple Valley Inn. She has been a Santa Maria resident since 1973, and has been a longtime volunteer at Marian Medical Center and the American Cancer Society. "Dot" was most proud of her more than 10-year career as a Leader with Weight Watchers. She was a member of the Santa Maria Valley Senior Citizens and was Past President. "Dot" was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. One of "Dot's" joys was traveling.
      "Dot" is survived by her husband of 51 years, Richard H. "Dick" Johann; son, Richard S. Johann of Oahu, Hawaii, daughter, Terri S. Harris of Santa Maria; mother, Edith I. Bloomfield of Santa Maria; sisters, JoAnn Markin of Los Osos, Calif.; Virginia I. Litch of Valencia, Calif.; grandchildren, Amber Trujillo of San Francisco, Calif.; and Jacob Chestnut of Santa Maria. She was preceded in death by her father, Scott Bloomfield, Dec. 23, 1945, and brother, Henry Bloomfield, Dec. 15, 1966.
      "Dot's" request was in lieu of flowers, balloon are suggested.
      Memorials may be made to Marian Medical Center Foundation, Hospice, 1400 E. Church St., Santa Maria, CA 93454. Arrangements are in the care of Magner Maloney Funeral Home.
