    • Glen L. Gritton
      Aledo, Ill. - Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Reiser Funeral Home here for Glen L. Gritton, 77, who died at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Mercy hospital, Davenport. He had been a patient there the past two weeks.
      The Rev. C.H. Essman will officiate. Burial will be in the Aledo cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Wednesday.
      Mr. Gritton, who lived at 109 North Ash, Aledo, was a resident here since 1914. A son of Ed and Sarah Minteer Gritton, he was born Jan. 19, 1886, in Eliza township. He was educated in the Eliza schools. His marriage to Iona Baker took place Dec. 20, 1911, at Aledo. They farmed near Millersburg until moving here. A retired carpenter, he was a former member of the Modern Woodmen of America.
      Surviving are his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Leta Churchill, Freeport, La., Mrs. Lillian Meyers, Buffalo Prairie, Mrs. Alice McMullen, New Windsor, and Mrs. Helen Elliott, Rock Island; three brothers, Louis, Muscatine, Elmer, Aledo, and Joe, Eliza; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Dorsett, Rock Island, and Mrs. Pearl Norton, Joy; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. One brother, one sister and his parents preceded him in death.
