Notes - Joseph Gritton
Aledo - Funeral services for Joseph L. Gritton, 77, of 507 SW 3rd Ave., Aledo, who was pronounced dead at a doctor's office after apparently suffering a heart attack about 11:45 a.m. yesterday, will be at 1:30 Thursday afternoon in the Reiser Funeral Chapel, Aledo.
The Rev. Claude Morehead, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Aledo, will officiate. Burial will be in the Aledo Cemetery. Friends may call after 7 tomorrow evening at the funeral chapel.
Mr. Gritton was born April 18, 1896, in Duncan Township, Mercer County, a son of Edward and Sarah Minteer Gritton. He attended the schools in Eliza.
On Feb. 15, 1922, he married Vivian Pearson. The couple farmed in Eliza Township until 1963 when they retired and moved to Aledo.
Mr. Gritton was of Protestant faith, and a member of the Mercer County Farm Bureau.
Surviving are the widow; a son, George of Aledo; a daughter, Mrs. Wayne Smith of New Boston; a granddaughter, and a sister, Mrs. Wesley Norton of Joy.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sister.
