    • Mitt C. Gritton
      Mitt C. Gritton, son of Edwin Lee and Susan Herndon Gritton, was born October 24, 1903, in Mercer County, Kentucky, and departed this life in LaGrande, Oregon, October 3, 1964, at the age of 60 years, 11 months, and 20 days.
      He moved to Baker, Oregon, at the age of 3 years, and spent most of his life in Oregon. He was in the Army in World War II, and has worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for over 20 years.
      He leaves to mourn his passing, two brothers, A.H. of Spokane Washington, and Terrill, of Summersville, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary E. Taber, and Mrs. Ada V. Becker, of Mtn. View, Mo., two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, two nieces, four nephews, three great nieces, two great nephews. His father, mother, and infant brother preceded him in death.
      Services were held Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Arroll Church with Rev. Coy Statler officiating. Burial was in the Arroll Cemetery under the direction of the Duncan Funeral Home.
      Mountain View Standard, Mountain View, Missouri. Thursday, 15 October 1964.
