Notes - Charles was a son of Amos Hartley and his wife, Elizabeth McMillin. He was a salesman and worked for the McNeal-Homer Company in Chicago, Illinois and Danville Wholesale Grocery Company in Danville, Illinois. He married Lena L. Moore, a daughter of Fleming Russell Moore and Angelina Good Walters. They were married on April 25, 1894 in Milford (Iroquois County), Illinois. They had no children. Charles died at his residence of heart disease.
NOTE: For the last twenty-four years the Hartleys resided at 10 W. Conron in Danville, Illinois.
