Obituary (Moberly (MO) Monitor-Index, Dec. 30, 1932)- Madison, Mo., Dec. 30- Harrison S. Powell, a resident of Monroe County for more than 60 years, died at 1:40 o'clock this morning at the home of a daughter here, Mrs. Edgar Tapp, following a week's illness of influenza. He was 79 years old. Mr. Powell was born in Washington County, Pennsylvania, but moved to this county when a young man. He had been a farmer all his life and lived near Madison. His wife died last February.
Mr. Powell is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Tapp; a son, James A. Tapp (s/b Powell), of Madison, and one brother, Silas Tapp (s/b Powell), of Madison. Another brother, Johnson Tapp, (s/b Powell), is dead and a sister died in infancy.
The funeral will be held from the residence of the daughter Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. R. A. Jones, Baptist minister of New London, Mo., will officiate. The Rev. Jones lived in Madison several years ago. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Madison.
