      Richard Lee Hancock, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 24, 2017. Mr. Hancock was born October 14, 1947 in Danville, Illinois to Ernest Vernon and Etta Eunice (Ralls) Hancock.
      Richard graduated from North Vermilion High School and joined the U. S. Army in June 1965. He was awarded the Purple Heart while serving in Vietnam on May 12, 1966. Mr. Hancock is retired from Delphi and a member of Decatur Baptist Church.
      Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sylvia (Lee) Hancock; one son; one daughter; two granddaughters; and three sisters.
      He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Matthew Craig Hancock; brother, John Hancock; and two sisters, Lena Mae Cox and Wilma Shelato.
