Mary Kosovich Magers. "Nana".
Mary passed away peacefully in her home on Jan. 19, 2014. She was born on February 27, 1914 in Trinidad, Colorado to George and Manda Saban Kosovich. She was raised in Ruth, Nevada and was the oldest and last surviving of seven children. She married Robert LeRoy Magers in Virginia City, Nevada. She was a very loving and supportive mother of two daughters, June Marie Magers (Jenkins) and Patricia Lillian Magers.
Her married years were spent in Napa, CA, South Jordan, Utah and Midvale, Utah. She was a talented florist, mostly at Dorthea's Floral in Midvale, where she was known for her strong work ethic, skill, and speed. She was a devout Catholic throughout her life, and was active in her parish at St. Therese Catholic Church, where she served in many capacities including the Altar Society and SWORDs group. She served as PTA president at South Jordan Elementary.
Mary was known for her very well kept home, especially her yard, and did her own lawn mowing, edging, trimming, and snow removal as long as her health would allow. She was also known for her cooking, especially Austrian style food; she rarely consulted a recipe, and cooked mostly from memory. She was admired by many for having an impeccable memory, even at the age of ninety-nine. She was kindhearted with animals and had many dogs and cats throughout her life.
