Notes - Elijah Fox and two brothers, B. Carter Fox, and Robert M. Fox enlisted Jan 1, 1863 and fought for the Union Army during the Civil War. Elijah, ‘mustered in' May 13, 1863, into Tennessee's Eight Infantry Regiment, Company C. Fighting under Maj. General William T. Sherman, he was wounded at Peachtree Creek, near Atlanta on July 21, 1864. He died of wounds on August 26, 1864.
