Notes - Don H. Gritton Sr., 78, of Danville passed away at 3:20 a.m. Thursday (May 23, 2002) at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home.
He was born on Sept. 20, 1923, the son of Jesse and Abi Miller Gritton. He married Gladys Trosper, the daughter of Albert and Blanch Jones Trosper, on May 2, 1946, in Pocahontas, Ark. She survives. Also surviving: two sons, Don H. (Sharon) Gritton of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Wilbur L. (Sally) Gritton of Perrysville, Ind.; one sister, Leora Harper of Stringtown, Ind.; one granddaughter, Robin Marie (Derek) Haisman of Durango, Colo.; one great-grandson, Timmy Haisman of Durango; special friends, Betty and Bud Copas of Fowler, Ind., and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents and one sister.
Don was a retired truck driver. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 26. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II, and was a member of the Cayuga, Ind. American Legion Post. He loved fishing.
