    Death Occurs At The County Home
    Mrs. Mary Gritton, an aged inmate of the county home, passed away about 9 o'clock last night after a lingering illness. Senility is assigned as the cause of her death.
    Mrs. Mary Gritton was born in Ohio about seventy-five years ago. She had made her home in and near this city during the greater part of her life, residing a part of the time with a daughter in this city and at other times with a daughter in Illinois.
    She is survived by three children, Mrs. Clara Lambert, residing near Eliza, Ill, and Tomas and Norman Gritton, both of Cedar county.
    The remains will be taken to Hebron, Ia., where burial will be made in the Hebron cemetery tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock.

    Tipton Resident, 87, Succumbs in Wilton
    Tipton - Levi Norman Gritton, 87, of Tipton died Monday in a Wilton nursing home after a long illness.
    Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Scheets and Dahn funeral home, Tipton, with the Rev. Eugene Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.
    A lifelong resident of the Tipton area, Mr. Gritton was a retired farmer.
    Surviving are four sons and five daughters, including Mrs. Dean Marolf of Iowa City.

    Mrs. Emma Cooley died at 7 Sunday evening at her home, 1013 Third avenue from cancer. She had been ill since March and was bedfast during the entire time.
    Emma Gritton was born January 7, 1878, in Rochester, Cedar county, Io., and there she grew to womanhood. She was married January 1, 1900, to Charles Cooley and three years later the couple removed to Muscatine. In January of this year they came to Rock Island.
    Beside her husband, she leaves her mother, Mrs. Mary Gritton of Muscatine, two brother, Thomas and Norman of Rochester and a sister, Mrs. Clara Lambert, of Illinois City. The remains will be taken to Rochester Wednesday morning and laid to rest in a cemetery there.

    Aledo - Mrs. Bert Boyles, 77, of 205 S. Hazel St., Aledo, former Joy resident, died at 12:10 this morning, shortly after admittance to Mercer County Hospital, Aledo.
    A heart ailment is believed to be the cause of death.
    Funeral services will be held at 1 Wednesday afternoon in the Reiser Chapel, Aledo. The Rev. Jack Brown, pastor of the Aledo Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Muscatine.
    Friends may call at the chapel after 7 tomorrow night.
    Mrs. Boyles was the former Clara I. Gritton, a daughter of Levi and Elizabeth Russell Gritton. She was born Oct. 8, 1884 in Cedar County, Iowa.
    She was reared and received her education there and was married to Marion Lambert July 27, 1902. He died in 1936.
    Her second marriage was to Mr. Boyles March 2, 1939 in Muscatine. Following their marriage, they resided in Joy until Sept. 6 this year when they moved to Aledo.
    She was of Baptist faith.
    Surviving are the widower; two daughter, Mrs. Fae Eger and Mrs. Velma Phillips, both of Muscatine; a stepson, Tex, Evansville, Ind.; a brother, Norman, Tipton, Iowa, and a grandchild.
    Four brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
