    In the name of God, Amen:
    I, Kate Fairchild, having fear of death, but being in sound mind and memory do make this my last will and testament.
    1st It is my will that my husband, Francis A. Fairchild, shall nave all the property, be it real or personal, that I have inherited or may have from the Estate of My Father, Reason H. McMillen, provided he abstains from the use of intoxicating liquors, or the drinking of the same as a beverage.
    2nd In case he, my said husband, should continue to use intoxicating liquors or drink, and shall not abstain from the same permanently, then it is my will that he shall have one thousand dollars in cash from my said Estate and no more. And the remainder of my estate whatever it maybe, shall be divided equally between my four sisters Elizabeth Hartley, Hattie McMillen, Ruby M. McMillen & Cyndia McMillen.
    3d Out of the personal property now mine, I will my sister Ruby my gold watch & chain, to my sister Cyndia all my pictures, to my sister Hattie my sewing machine, to my sister Elizabeth my bed, to my mother one half of my quilts, to my mother-in-law the other half. To each of my brothers one Dollar, and the remainder of my personal chattels I will to my husband.
    4th It is my will that the Judge of the County Court of Vermilion County appoint some discreet person to execute this my will.
    In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand & seal this the 8th day of December 1877.
