    Uncle Aunt dies One Hour Apart

    Rensselaer --- Word was received here today a niece Mrs Chester Meadows , 560 , Factory Street of the double deaths of her Uncle and Aunt Mr and Mrs William Obenchain of North Judson in the Rensselaer Hospital Monday Morning. According to Mrs Meadows, the couple ill at the hospital about one week died within one hour of each other. The husband died first. Surviving are three daughters Mrs Jennie Cavinder of Valpariso; Mrs Austa Walker and Mrs Otie Walker both of Rensselaer; and son Leslie of Rensselaer. Double Funeral services will be held at the Jackson Funeral Home in Rensselaer Thursday at 2pm with Burial in the Rensselaer Cemetery. Friends may call at 7 pm until time of services Thursday.

Church of the Nazarene, officiating , Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9pm today and after 4 pm Tuesday. A resident of Valparaiso since `1922, she was born in Jasper County August 29 , 1899 daughter of William and Mary Nuss Obenchain. Her husband in death May 1966.she was retired employee of the former Continantal Diamond Fibre CO. , where she had been employed for 27 years and was a member of the American Auxiliary and woman of the Moose. Surviving are two sons Kenneth Cavinder of Valpariso and Everett Cavinder of Cedar Lake, two sisters , Mrs Austa Walker and Mrs Leoda Walker , Both of Rensselaer; four grandchildren and four Gr grandchildren, She was preceded in death by a son in infancy and a brother Leslie Obenchain

    Barbara A. Hudson, 81, of Rensselaer, passed away Sunday evening, February 10, 2013 at Jasper County Hospital surrounded by her family. Barbara was born on September 23, 1931, daughter of the late Job and Austa (Obenchain) Walker. She was a lifetime Jasper County resident.
    Barbara graduated from Rensselaer High School with the Class of 1949. Her marriage was to the late Orval W. "Bill" Hudson. Barbara and her husband owned and operated Hudson's Grocery Store and Country Corner Restaurant for almost 50 years. She retired in 1995.
    Barbara was active with the Business and Professional Womens Club, and Rensselaer Bowling League for many years. She also enjoyed gardening. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church of Rensselaer. She loved her family dearly, especially her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    Barbara is survived by three daughters, Pam (Mrs. Dave) Lakin of Rensselaer, Theresa "Terry" Tatlock of Rensselaer, Kim Nagel of Lafayette; and one son, Mike Hudson of Rensselaer. Ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two granddaughters, one great-granddaughter, one brother and one sister.
    A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 12 noon (CST) at Weston Cemetery with Father Don Davison officiating
