      Raymond A. Krukewitt, 77 of Sidney, died March 4 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. Mr. Krukewitt was born June 12, 1913 at Homer, the son of Gustavus and Alice Schaffer Krukewitt. He married Carolyn Hopkins Aug. 15, 1843 at Homer. She preceded him in death in 1967. He married Verniece Yeazel June 15, 1969 at Homer. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Lynn Krukewitt of Ft. Worth, Texas and Kent Krukewitt of homer; a daughter, Jo Mazik of Mt. Prospect; two stepsons, Gene Yeazel of Sidney and Robert Yeazel of St. Joseph; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and a sister, Mildred Sy of Sidney. Mr. Krukewitt was a member of the Homer United Methodist Church, the Champaign County Farm Bureau, the Sidney Senior Citizens and the I & I Antique Tractor Club. A 4-H leader for 25 years, he farmed in the Homer area and retired in 1980. He also was a fertilizer dealer for many years. Funeral services were held March 7 at Freese Funeral Home, Sidney. Rev. Donald Strohl officiated. Burial was held in GAR Cemetery, Homer. (transcribed by Homer Historical Society)
