    • Marilyn Dee Vermillion Culp. April 30, 1933 ~ March 03, 2014.
      Marilyn Dee Culp, age 80, formerly of Fort Scott and more recently of Bronaugh, Missouri, died Monday, March 3rd, at the Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada, Missouri.
      She was born April 30, 1933, the daughter of John Clark and Ruth Elsie Lewis Vermillion.
      She attended Fort Scott High School and Fort Scott Community College.
      She married Douglas Culp on August 9, 1948, in Fort Scott, Kansas. He preceded her in death on December 18, 1988.
      Marilyn worked in the printing department for Fort Scott Community College for ten years.
      She enjoyed reading, crocheting, sewing and traveling.
      She was a member of the RLDS Church in Nevada.
      Survivors include three daughters, Sherry Daniels, Topeka, Kansas, Sarah McCully and husband Les, Deerfield, Missouri, and Shanna Griffiths and husband Bob, Bronaugh, Missouri; two brothers, James and John Vermillion, California City, California; a sister, Elnora Weeks, Adrian, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Angela Kearns, Lenexa, Kansas, Kristina Cute and husband Ken, San Antonio, Texas, Eryka Benteman and husband Josh, Topeka, Kansas, Meggan Witte and husband Matt, Moundville, Missouri, Erin Meek and husband Shannon, Deerfield, Missouri, Kathleen Morton and husband Nathan, Yucaipa, California, Douglas Griffiths and wife Priscilla, Bronaugh, Missouri, and Lisa Peterson and husband Shane, Bronaugh, Missouri; eighteen great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
      In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
      Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 7th, at the Cheney Witt Chapel.
      Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
      The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the Chapel.
      Memorials are suggested to V.F.W. Post #1165 and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, P.O. Box 347, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott, Kansas 66701.
